The three of us planned it for April 1st. We set out, cameras in hand. It was a pretty weedy field, and some were pretty high, so I did what any awesome mother would do and send the husband in first to scare off any critters.
So brave, he was. What a team player.
About 4 seconds after I took this picture a car drove by and stopped. A man stuck his head out the window and yelled "Y'all be careful, three other families found PYTHONS in there and this guy across the street had to come and kill them". Pythons? In Texas? Listen, a snake is a snake, and he didn't have to tell me twice. Matt came back out, thanked me again for making him go in there first, and we began looking for another spot.
I'm not going to lie - I was pretty bummed the perfect spot I had found was snake-infested. But oh well. No one but me really looks at them anyway, right?
So they're not QUITE as perfect, but they came out pretty cute. Well, they're photos of Little, how can they not be? AGREED.
Some funny outtakes first...
